Who we are & What we do
Our team is made up of an eclectic number of passionate individuals who come from a number of different walks of life. From engineers to marketing experts, we all have one thing in common: a passion towards helping people connect.
Social media and dating apps such as Tinder have ushered in a new era of opportunities, capitalizing on the ability for individuals to pick and choose who they may be interested in and pursue conversations with. However, as many of us have discovered, the limitations of these methods make it difficult to really know who we are talking to, and most importantly, it makes the process of meeting new people a lot more shallow than most of us would like.
The ability to move past individuals we may not be interested in favor of those we might be is great – however, it introduces a form of marginalization where we inevitably start looking at each person as a two-dimensional image, represented by a small paragraph and tiny quotes, which does away with all the important real-world factors that make up who each of us is.
We at Smoothe Events love the benefits of social apps, and with our unique system have taken all the great stuff provided by them and have merged them with a robust and healthy real-world experience. What this means is, when you attend one of our hosted events, you are able to see people in all of their three-dimensional glory, and you can decide if you like them based on that – not only this, but you can also move past people you feel you don’t connect with just as easily as you can on dating apps.
And to top it all off, instead of trying to come up with interesting things to say over boring text messages, once you match with someone at one of our events, you can initiate an immediate, timed meet to get to know one another.
This gives us the efficiency of dating apps, but also integrates the benefits of speedily mingling where you actually get to meet and greet people in the real-world, and get to experience that humanized connection.
